A lot of good road bikers get their start in mountain biking. Cadel Evans and Floyd Landis are just a couple that come to mind. Dave Wiens is too old to be a Tour de France rider. He's 43. The oldest tour winner ever was 36, and that was in 1922. Not that he isn't an awesome overall biker, but road biking is definitely a young man's sport.

The question is why is Dave not being recruited for a Tour de France Team? Do the two types of biking contrast that much?
